Condolence: A Tribute In Memory of Malcolm “ Mackie” Freeman
An Inspiration To Us All.

I always found Mackie to be an inspiration I viewed him as a man of grace and grit;
Even in his most trying times he was never one to quit.
God blessed him with a special sense of humor and with a great zest and zeal for life;
Not a single soul will disagree with me that he also blessed him with a loving wife.
Who can find a virtuous woman? is the question posed in Proverbs thirty-one;
They don't come anymore virtuous than Carolyn I commend her for the race in which she's run.
She was the rock that Mackie stood upon she was his shelter in the storm;
When the nights were cold and dreary she comforted him and kept him warm.
She never deviated from the vows she spoke on the day that they were wed;
And I don't believe she would have opted out even if she had of known what lied ahead.
Prior to Mackie's accident in the woods he was as hard- nosed as they come;
If he had of died he would be better off were the actual words and thoughts of some.
But God He had a much different plan and in spite of Mackie's disability;
What the devil had planned for evil God would use to set him free.
God takes the ashes of our lives and He uses them for His glory;
I believe this is exactly what He did in the case of Mackie's story.
Doctor's appointments and hospital beds would be a big part of Mackie's life;
I don't believe he would have lived this long had he not had such a loving wife.
Not to mention his family members and his beloved church family, too;
Mackie had friends from far and wide it's amazing how many people this man knew.
To say he touched a lot of lives would most definitely be a fact;
In the seventy-five years God granted him Mackie certainly made a big impact.
When I think of Mackie Freeman Rick Hansen comes to mind;
Known as “The Man in Motion” he's learned the meaning of grit and grind.
And to Mackie Freeman's credit he learned the meaning of these words,too;
Just as he learned there wasn't anything that the Good Lord wouldn't see him through.
Including the Valley of the Shadow of Death he would not walk through it alone;
That his Lord would walk it with him and He would safely lead him Home.
There aren't any wheel chairs up in Heaven for there are no disabilities;
Thanks to Christ's finished work upon the cross there are no entry fees.
Yes, Mackie's wheel chair days are over and his journey here on earth is through;
He now resides in Heaven where his life begins anew.
By his loved ones, friends and family Mackie will be missed, for sure;
But he's left us with a legacy that forever will endure.
The Bible tells us to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord;
Mackie accepted Jesus as his Saviour so on this we can rest assured.
I offer my sympathy to his friends and family members but most of all to Carolyn, his loving wife;
I think it is most appropriate in closing off this tribute that we give thanks to God for Mackie's life.
