A wonderful doctor and gentle man.

I first met Ralph when I started working at Blanchard Memorial Hospital in Kentville.I am an operating room nurse and worked with him from 1980 untill he left to work in Saudia. Ralph was a very gifted surgeon, with big hands and gentle touch, and never ceased to amaze me at his finesse. Over the years we worked together,he always had a down to earth attitude, and didn't think he was the superior, but worked along with you as part of the team, spending often hours doing one surgery. Ralph loved to talk ,staying behind while we cleaned up following busy nights till the wee hours talking . He loved his family, trucks, and his homestead in Kempt, where his blueberries were, and invited me to visit as my family also had ties in Yarmouth. He was very good to his patients and always had time for them. The world will be a smaller place without him. I am so sorry he is gone. A well respected surgeon and man. I am proud to say I worked with him all those years and learned many things from him as he would teach as we worked together. He will be missed.
