Thompson, Brian Hugh,64, of Overton passed unexpectedly at home on July 19, 2020. Born in Yarmouth, he was a son of Esther (Fevens) Thompson and the late Howard “Sonny” Thompson. A true Toque wearing Canadian outdoorsman living off the land, working for 56 years as a wormer. Brian enjoyed everything to do with nature, whether it was trapping, fishing, or simply working in his garden or working on his front lawn; he was happy just being outside. He was an avid bowler and family man. His love for his children and grandchildren was unconditional. He could be found every Sunday with his church family, who was a significant part of his life. Every Sunday evening after church, they would all gather at the Dairy Queen. Brian is survived by his loving wife, Lynn; daughter, Katie (Jason Cook) , Hill View; Stepmother, Anna Thompson, Brenton; grandchildren, Hunter; Grace; Jackson; Taylor; Karlee; siblings, John (Gina) Thompson, West Pubnico; Heather (Henry) Wilton, Brazil Lake; Janice (Reginald) d’Entremont, West Pubnico; Ruth (John) Leblanc, Wedgeport; Elizabeth (Gregory) Jacquard; step-siblings, Scott Hurlburt; Eric (Kim) Hurlburt; Steve (Suzanne) Hurlburt; Jeff (Dahilia) Hurlburt. Besides his father, he was predeceased by his two sons, Shawn, and Robert in infancy. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Yarmouth. Visitation will be held, Thursday, July 23,2020 from 7-9pm in the Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A private Funeral service will take place Friday, July 24, 2020. Our deepest condolences to Lynn , Katie, Ester, and the family as well as Brian's step family. It was a shock to everyone to learn of his passing at such a young age. He always had a smile on his face and a story to tell. He will be dearly missed by his family but also the community as he was a fixture not only in Overton but in his Church community as well. Our hearts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. James and Shelley Bodge

Dear Lynn and Katie and all of the Thompson family,
Just wanted to say how sad we are to hear of Brian's sudden passing. He has been a fixture around the shop for so long he is missed very much. Dad said the other day he was family and is really going to miss Brian's morning visits in his "office". They had lots of long chats there. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.
