Obituary for Brian Hugh Thompson

Thompson, Brian Hugh,64, of Overton passed unexpectedly at home on July 19, 2020. Born in Yarmouth, he was a son of Esther (Fevens) Thompson and the late Howard “Sonny” Thompson. A true Toque wearing Canadian outdoorsman living off the land, working for 56 years as a wormer. Brian enjoyed everything to do with nature, whether it was trapping, fishing, or simply working in his garden or working on his front lawn; he was happy just being outside. He was an avid bowler and family man. His love for his children and grandchildren was unconditional. He could be found every Sunday with his church family, who was a significant part of his life. Every Sunday evening after church, they would all gather at the Dairy Queen. Brian is survived by his loving wife, Lynn; daughter, Katie (Jason Cook) , Hill View; Stepmother, Anna Thompson, Brenton; grandchildren, Hunter; Grace; Jackson; Taylor; Karlee; siblings, John (Gina) Thompson, West Pubnico; Heather (Henry) Wilton, Brazil Lake; Janice (Reginald) d’Entremont, West Pubnico; Ruth (John) Leblanc, Wedgeport; Elizabeth (Gregory) Jacquard; step-siblings, Scott Hurlburt; Eric (Kim) Hurlburt; Steve (Suzanne) Hurlburt; Jeff (Dahilia) Hurlburt. Besides his father, he was predeceased by his two sons, Shawn, and Robert in infancy. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Yarmouth. Visitation will be held, Thursday, July 23,2020 from 7-9pm in the Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A private Funeral service will take place Friday, July 24, 2020. Those who wish to view this service may do so on the Sweeny’s Funeral Home Website at 2pm. Rev, Keith Moore officiating. Interment to follow in the Chegoggin Cemetery. Family Flowers only please.
