A Tribute In Memory Of Arthur Leonard Crowell ( “Arcy”)
A Man Of God, A Precious Loved One And Friend.

Arcy has made his last trip out from Kemptville
the place that he so dearly adored;
His journey here on this earth is now over
and he's gone Home to be with his Lord.

Today we can be encouraged in knowing
that this is a God given promise to all who believe;
But the reality is we are still human beings
therefore, it is only normal to grieve.

To my wife, Ellie and I, Arcy and Gladys
were spiritual mentors and the dearest of friends;
I suppose in a sense you could call them somewhat old fashioned
for they were not caught up in all of the modern day trends.

There are people we meet in our life time
that touch us in a profound way;
To us,Arcy and Gladys were two of these people
for you don't get to meet their kind everyday!

No, I'm not suggesting that Arcy was perfect
for the truth is we are all a bit flawed;
If I only had a sentence to sum up his life
I would say that Arcy Crowell was a man of God.

We are told numerous times in the Bible
that our journey here on this earth is brief;
Our hearts go out to Gladys and the family
we want you to know that we all share in your grief.

Arcy Crowell was a man of conviction
and he would push back when he felt he was right;
There is more to be said about the size of the fight in the dog
than there is to be said about the size of the dog in the fight.

Anyone who knew Arcy at all
knew him to be a true, blue Kempter, right to the core;
There is no place on earth that he would rather be
and he has left his mark on this village, for sure.

Arcy's voice here has been silenced forever
though I'm sure someone will eventually play his guitar;
I must say I always enjoyed his singing and playing
in my view, Arcy Crowell was a star.

For I got the sense that it came from his heart
and that's all that really mattered to me;
Arcy's with all the musicians around Heaven's Throne
and I'm sure they are having a real jam-bo-ree!

Singing and praising Jesus their King
and worshipping Him for all eternity;
We can only imagine as we wait for that day
as to “Oh, what a day that will be!”

But until that day comes we must soldier on
serving the Lord as well as our fellow man;
Arcy set an excellent example while here on this sod
always doing his best to follow the Master's Plan.

Arcy often spoke about working for the Dept. Of Highways
and how proud he was to be one of the crew;
Should there be any fellow workers here in our midst
I can tell you that Arcy never ceased from praying for you.

To his Brothers and Sisters in Christ we can be sure
that he held a special place for us all in his heart;
As I've said before, I'll say it once more
it is only normal to grieve when a loved one departs.

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints
is what God's most Holy Word has to say;
And having the greatest confidence that God cannot break His word
we can be certain that Arcy is in the full presence of Jesus today.

I can truthfully tell you, I will miss Arcy Crowell
I considered him to be a spiritual father and friend;
On behalf of my wife and myself and all that have gathered here today
our heartfelt condolences to the Crowell family we sincerely wish to extend.

The many fond memories we have will only grow fonder with time
and there will be times when they will flood our souls;
My hope today is that hearts will be encouraged and touched
by this tribute I've written in memory of the late Arthur Crowell.

As for the legacy that he has left for us all
time will neither soon erode nor erase;
I want to give thanks to God for our loved one and friend
and thank Him for His love, for His mercy and His grace.

In closing, with all I have said, I am fully aware
that I have only scratched the surface of Arthur Crowell's story;
As we celebrate his life here today I do know for a fact
that Arcy would want for God to get all of the honor and glory!
