STEAD, Gordon Allen – Passed away peacefully, at his home in Lake Doucette ,Nova Scotia on June 11, 2014 at the age of 82. Al was a 20 year veteran with the Metropolitan Toronto Police and former Bank of Montreal investigator. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Betty McKinnon; children, Deborah (Ian), Angela and Lisa and son, Michael (Lisa). He was "Big Grandpa" to 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Allen will be fondly remembered by Betty's son Terry and grandson Hayden. Al is also survived by his brother, Derek; and sister, Valerie. He was predeceased by his sister Daphne and brother Ron. Funeral armaments were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. The family would like to thank the VON palliative care team who assisted Betty in allowing Al to remain at home during his illness. In accordance with Al's wishes‎ a private service was held.
