Condolence From: Sarah Reid
Condolence: I am so very sorry, heartbroken, to learn of Roland's passing. Rollie was a good friend and comfort to me as part of the online community of people who are living with PSP. We wrote often, went through many crises together and spoke of meeting someday. He had a kind and generous heart. He loved his Madeleine so much; their relationship was inspirational. My sincere sympathy to his family on their great loss. Love and Peace to you all, Sarah Reid (Maine, USA)

Condolence: Dear Roddie,Stephen and Families,
Roland was always my favourite cousin! My sister,Irene, and I spent many fun
filled Summers visiting at Aunt Cecile's and I certainly had a big crush on Roland-oh so handsome and funny.
Roland was a sincere, charming and friendly gentleman. He and you must be so proud
of the continuous loving care that he showed to your Mom throughout her illness.
I was quite surprised to hear of his passing however my first thoughts were that he and your Mom are together again along with his parents and brothers.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.We will always have
fond memories in our hearts for Roland,Madeline,Aunt Cecile and Lower Wedgeport.
Please know that our deepest sympathy and love are with you.

Condolence: Rollie: A true friend and wonderful man. Always took the time to stop whatever he was doing and come to see me, whether it was outside at the gas bar or inside at the service counter. I always felt Rollie was on "my side", no matter what the issue of the day happen to be (political/world affairs or everyday life). Rollie didn't come across as the "Boss" since you could often catch him sweeping or washing the floor, cleaning up around outside or chatting with customers. Kind, generous, polite, easy-going and loyal, are just some words that describe Rollie. My sincerest condolences to Steve and all the family.

Condolence: 34 years ago Rollie gave me my first job at age 16 at the petro Canada. Rollie never forgot who I was even if we went a few years with out meeting up. I remember when he left Petro Canada and moved across the street to the esso, when ever I came in there to pay for gas or just to get a coffee, if he was there he always made a point to come over and say hi. Just a few weeks ago before his passing, I was in Cole Harbor and walked into the esso and thought of how Rollie use to greet me. RIP rollie you was an amazing man and boss.

Condolence: Uncle Rollie will long be missed and remembered for his sense of humour and charm which endeared him deeply to all who knew him. He was such a truly genuine, caring and compassionate man to whom family was everything! He will be so missed by those who love him but I can't help but be happy for him that he is now reunited with his beloved Madeleine and his dear brothers Ulysse and John. Heaven just got a little funnier!

Condolence From: Tara, Jonathan and Nicholas
Condolence: Dear Roddy, Joanne, Stephen, Irene and families, I can’t begin to tell you how sorry I am for your loss. There are so many things to cherish and remember about Rollie. I’ll miss his sense of humour. I can’t count how many conversations we had that he didn’t bring a smile to my face or outright laughter. I’ll miss when he’d call the house to speak with Nick or Jon and we’d end up talking about any range of topics. Our last conversation Rollie said to me “everyone is doing okay” and I knew, for him, that was the most important thing. In essence that was Rollie, always looking out for family. I’ll miss his thoughtful e-mails wishing me a Happy Mother’s Day or just to check in. He and Madeline helped to shape Jon and Nick in to the wonderful young men they are today, and always left them feeling treasured. He and Madeline were the best grandparents any kid could ask for. Rollie, we know you are at peace and finally with Madeline whom you cherished beyond words. You were a devoted, loving, supportive and caring human being who always had time for people from all walks of life, and this earth is less for losing you but heaven is rich for having you. We will carry you in our hearts always. Rest in peace.
