Obituary for William Merle Wetmore

William Merle  Wetmore
Wetmore, William Merle, 96, Veteran’s Place, Yarmouth, passed away May 30, 2018. Born in Cedar Lake, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Winnifred (Troop) Wetmore. Merle was a member of the Beaver River United Baptist Church and dearly loved his family. He was a co owner of B.A. Wetmore and Sons Saw Mill, along with his brother Edgar. He served his country in WW2, was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and former Odd Fellow. He was an avid reader and woodsman and loved camping with friends in Keji, playing golf and a mean game of cards including crib. He is survived by daughters, Betty Parker, Hansport; Shirley (Dan) Robicheau, Port Maitland; Sara Rose, Cedar Lake; sons Benjamin (Deborah) Wetmore, Conway; Gary Wetmore, Bridgewater; sisters Muriel Devillez, Ontario; Benita Cann, Yarmouth; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Beside his parents he was predeceased by his loving wife of 62 years, Mildred (King); brother Edgar; sisters Harriette, Bessie, Roberta, Mary, Nina and Edith. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation will take place one hour prior to funeral service from 1-2pm, June 3,2018 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be at 2pm, also from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Keith Moore and Rev. Bev Densmore officiating. Interment to follow in the Port Maitland/ Beaver River Cemetery. It has been requested family flowers only. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Beaver River Church, Port Maitland/ Beaver River Cemetery or charity of your choice.
