STATES- Wayne Gordon- age 57, of Yarmouth, N.S. passed away October 31, 2015 at home. Born in Pembroke, Ontario he was the son of the late John “Jack” States and Lois L.(Bright).Wayne served 6 years in the military, trained as a Medic and served as a Peace Keeper in Cyprus. He was an employee of YACRO for 20 years. He attended Faith Christian Church, Centerville, Cape Sable Island. He is survived by wife Barbara “Ann” (Syvertsen); step daughters Sheila (James) Stevens, Argyle, N.S., Bonny (Craig) Veysey, Sooke, B.C., Crystal (Brad) Parker, High River, Alberta; step sons Don (Heather) Blauvelt, Pubnico, N.S., Mark Blauvelt, Calgary Alberta. Brothers Tony, John (Nancy) Saskatoon, Sask., James, Wade and Charles all of Pembroke, Ontario; 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, November 4, 2015 from 7-9 p.m from Sweenys Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Thursday November 5, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the Faith Christian Church, Centerville, Cape Sable Island with Pastor Mike Owen officiating. Interment will be in the Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery Donations in his honor may be made to the “Gospel For Asia” or Faith Christian Church.
