Obituary for Russell Conway Manser

Russell Conway  Manser
MANSER, Russell, Conway- age 86, of the Villa St. Joseph du Lac and formerly of Yarmouth, passed away peacefully at the Villa St Joseph du Lac on July 17, 2014. Russell was born in Yarmouth on May 14, 1928. Although he was a man of few words he was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather who loved his family dearly. He was a devoted member of the Zion Baptist Church where he held the position of Deacon. Russell started his career as a bread truck driver then became a member of the Yarmouth Town Police, followed by being a bookkeeper at Hamilton’s Auto. He was also proud to be a member of the Yarmouth Volunteer Fire Department. Russell is survived by his son, Danny Manser, Yarmouth; grandchildren, Holly, Nathan, and Mellissa; great granddaughter, Zandalee; sister-in-law, Eliza Goodwin; brother-in-law, Sam Goodwin and his daughters Pattie, Cindy, and Heidi. He was predeceased by his wife, Jane Catherine; brothers, Maynard and Allen; son, Charles; sister-in-law, Nancy Goodwin. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 20, 2014 from 7-9 p.m. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral service will be held Monday, July 21, 2014 at 4 p.m in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. A.D. “Bill” Newell officiating. A private family interment will take place in Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery. Donations in memory maybe made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Villa St. Joseph du Lac.
