Condolence: A Tribute in Memory of Micheal James Hurlburt ( Mike)
Our Loved One and Friend.
Mike was a hard working man and he always gave it his best;
Whether here on the East Coast or on the job site out West.
What he lacked in education he made up for with and brawn;
No, things will not be the same now that our friend and loved one is gone.
Anyone whoever knew Mike real well knew he had determination and grit;
And if you were to push his hot button he was known to take the occasional fit.
By no means was he perfect but neither are you nor I;
In my view, with all things considered, Mike was a really,good guy!
To Mike's loving wife, Linda and to the two daughters, as well;
In the loss of your husband and father there are no words that can tell:
The extent you're going to miss him but we do want you to know;
That you'll be in our thoughts and prayers as onward you go.
To all of Mike's brothers and sisters and to all family members and friends;
Like always we support one another whenever the death angel descends.
The actual truth of the matter is we are all going to perish;
As for out departed loved one and friend we have many fond memories to cherish.
It gives us great comfort in knowing that Mike got his life right with the Lord;
And thanks to the Great Physician Mike is now miraculously cured.
These mortal bodies we live in consist only of flesh and bone;
And as long as we are alive in them we will be diseased prone.
But let's be perfectly clear that the BIG “C” isn't cancer;
Rather the BIG”C” is Christ to whom is the ultimate answer.
We could never wish Mike back considering the state he was in;
But if we know Christ as our Saviour we will get to see him again.
Mike came from a large family and I come from one , too;
Therefore,I believe I have a pretty good grasp on some of what your family's been through.
I have had the privilege of knowing you people and I classify you as my friends;
There is no question that the road of life has it's twists and its bends.
I offer you my deepest condolences as your family circle has once again been broken;
This tribute I've penned about your precious loved one it's my hope that it serves as a token,
In offering you some encouragement as well as, some comfort and peace;
Knowing that Mike is in the presence of God and may your hope and faith in Him increase.
No, fifty-nine years and ten months is not a lengthy stay on this sod;
But I believe it is only appropriate that we give thanks to God.
For the life that He granted to our loved one and friend;
Who is now in the full presence of Jesus and is enjoying life without end.
There is no better way to finish off Micheal's story;
Than to close by these five final words, “To God be the Glory!!!”
