Obituary for Mason John Edward Grant

Mason John Edward Grant
GRANT, Mason John Edward-age 7, it is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the tragic passing of Mason on Sunday January 7, 2018 in Pubnico Head, Yarmouth Co., N.S. Born in Yarmouth on September 11, 2010 he was a son to Jeremy Grant (Carly Walker) and Megan Smith (Michel Boudreau). Mason was always so happy and had a great sense of humor. You knew something was up when he gave you his mischievous smile. Mason loved being surrounded by family and friends and making those around him laugh. He cared so much for the people in his life and always wanted to help anyone in need. Anyone who ever met Mason was touched by his infectious smile and his beaming personality. He was truly the light in everyone’s lives and all who knew him will carry special memories. He loved to tell jokes even though they rarely made sense. Mason was fearless; he loved new adventures and didn’t hesitate to meet new people and friends. Once you met Mason, you had a friend for a lifetime. He had a passion for fishing with his Dad and getting his hands dirty working beside him. He was a Mama’s boy who loved to help around the house and a proud Big Brother. He loved anything with a motor and wheels, camping, family trips, digging for bugs or searching for frogs, watching YouTube videos and had such a love for music, playing instruments, and singing. He loved animals and seemed to have a special, unique bond with them. Mason was wise beyond his years. His 7 years of life were far too short but they were packed with adventures and exciting experiences that were shared with so many people, who all loved him so very much. He will truly be missed. Besides his parents he is survived by his sisters, Rylee Grant and Ellie Boudreau; paternal grandparents, Sandy and Patty Grant and maternal grandparents Trina Roberts (Todd Roberts) and John Hubley, and many special uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by a special great grandmother; Shirley Roberts. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A Celebration of Mason’s life will be held Monday January 22,2018 at 2 P.M. from Yarmouth Wesleyan Church with Pastors Mitchell DeWare and A.J Plaizier officiating. Interment will take place in Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery. Donations in Mason’s memory may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation Atlantic Provinces.
