Obituary for Mary Eleanor Challoner

Mary Eleanor Challoner
MARY ELEANOR (SAULNIER) CHALLONER: (DECEMBER29, 1946-DECEMBER29, 2017)
Devoted and loving wife of Anthony, who passed away in April of this same year. They are now together again. An amazing mom to Angela (Daniel) Marginson, Calvin Challoner, Jennifer (Jim) Miller, Fraser (Lisa) Challoner, Aaron (Charlene) Challoner and also Beth (Tim) Nickerson to whom she considered one of her own. A special Nana to Adam, Michael, Jacob, Dominic, Brandon, Kiersten, Riley, Laken, Kayla, and Hannah. Great Nana to Mason, Nicholas, Cooper, and Emerson. A loving sister to Roger (Lorna) Saulnier. Mary is predeceased by her father John Melbourne Saulnier, her mother Mary Evelyn (Boudreau) Saulnier, sister Evelina (Gould) Saulnier, brothers, George (in infancy), Paul, Herbert, Irwin, Malcolm, Lawrence, and Elroy (in infancy). Mary was a homemaker and a great cook, who loved company and always seemed to have an extra plate of food to share if someone happened to stop by at meal times. She loved flowers, gardening, doing jigsaw puzzles and in these last few months really enjoyed coloring. She carried the title of “AUNT MARY” with pride to many nieces and nephews, some who also thought of this special lady as mom. She filled the hearts of many people with love and open arms, she had the best hugs. She had a special spot in her heart for some of her nieces, nephews and sister in laws, as they did for her. There are special people that spent time these past few months with Mary helping with her care, those times will be treasured memories they will carry in their hearts. She will be fondly remembered by her three little squeezes, meaning “I LOVE YOU”. Her parting words in most conversations were “I love you, take care and don’t forget to write”, there was never a good bye. We will miss you Mom, go with Dad and remember: “DON’T FORGET TO WRITE”. Funeral arrangements have entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. There will be a Memorial Service at a later date. On-line condolences may be sent to: sweenysfh@eastlink.ca or you may sign the guestbook on-line at www.sweenysfuneralhome.net
