Obituary

d'Eon, Mark Gordon – age 48 of West Pubnico, N.S., passed away peacefully with his family by his side on March 6, 2021. Born in Yarmouth on August 3, 1972, he was a son to Carmen (Priscilla) d'Eon and Lynn (Rob) Kaufmann. Mark was known to work hard and play harder. He was a lobster fisherman by trade but also went herring seining, crabbing, and swordfishing. He had a passion for ski-dooing and frequented NFLD on Ski-Doo trips with his friends. He was also an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and spending days on the water in his speed boat with family and friends. Mark loved to make people laugh and was known to tease. There was never a dull moment with him around. He could be described as honest, sometimes to a fault. He is survived by his loving wife, Marsha ; children, Luke (Kiara) and Brooke, both of Middle East Pubnico; step-daughters, Kaylie (Chris) and Hannah Amiro, both of West Pubnico; brother, Randy (Holly) d'Eon, Lower West Pubnico; and sister, Cammy d'Eon (Gibby) West Pubnico; step-sister, Tanya (Lennox) d'Entremont, Argyle; paternal grandmother, Elda d'Eon, and maternal grandfather, Gordon (Augusta) Newell. Also survived by sister-in-law Tanya Adams and nieces and nephews Sydney, Macy, Saydee, Neena, Crofton, Alyssa, Brittany and Tyler. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Enid Newell, paternal grandfather, Alphonse d'Eon and Uncle Steve Newell. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny's Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A public visitation will be held Tuesday, March 9, 2021, from 7-9 P.M. in Sweeny's Funeral Home Chapel. An invite-only Celebration of Marks Life will be held Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at 11 A.M. from Sweeny's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mitchell Deware officiating. Covid-19 public health protocols are in place, and masks are mandatory. The service will be live-streamed on Sweeny's Funeral Home website. Interment will take place at a later date. In place of flowers, donations in memory can be made to the Friends of Gilles Boudreau Cancer Help Fund or the QE2 Foundation.
