Obituary for Marilyn Eugenia Sweeney

Marilyn Eugenia  Sweeney
Sweeney, Marilyn Eugenia- age 81 passed away on Friday June 8,2018 at the Villa St. Joseph du Lac Dayton, NS. Born July 7, 1936 in Pleasant Valley, Yarmouth Co. to Eudora Gavel and was loved and raised by step-father Ronald (Dunc) Bergin. She was a nurse(Healthcare) at Tidal View Manor for several years, she was a member of the Yarmouth North Baptist Church. Marilyn dearly loved her grandchildren and enjoyed every moment that she spent with them. For the past year and a half the staff of the Sarah Corning Wing of the Villa were like an extended family to her. She is survived by sons Randy Guier of Yarmouth, and Bruce (Joyce ) Guier of Sluice Point; daughters Shelley(Vaughn) Cosman of Wellington, Yarmouth Co., Twyla (Mark) Duncan of Port Maitland; sister Freida (Burton) Bain of Dayton. Six grandchildren George, Nick, Marci, Shalena, Matthew, and Lia; Two great grandchildren Will and Noah. Marilyn was predeceased by a son Wendall Guier and her first husband Colin Guier. Visitation will be held Monday June 11,2018 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm in Sweenys Funeral Home Chapel, Yarmouth. Funeral service will take place Tuesday June 12,2018 at 2:00 pm from Sweenys Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Shawn Kehoe and Rev. A.D. “Bill” Newell officiating. Burial will take place in Port Maitland Beaver River Cemetery. Family flowers only . Donations in memory may be made to Tri County VON or to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth.
