Obituary for Lawrence Alan Rhyno

Lawrence  Alan  Rhyno
RHYNO-Lawrence Alan age 83, of Yarmouth, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother, died Sunday Sept. 7, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital with his family at his side. Born in Hebron, Yarmouth County, January 21, 1931.He was the son of the late Irving and Elsie Rhyno. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Patricia (Trefry). He is also survived by four sons, Gerry; Larry (Marilyn); David (Sandra); Jim (Ruth Anne). He is survived by seven daughters, Cheryl (Oliver) Bourque; Dianne (Alfred) d'Entremont; Kathy (Brian) Medel; Wendy (Blair) Riley; Becky ( Brigette) Rhyno; Pam (Trent) Harding; Connie (Kevin) Schneider and daughter-in-law Karen (Bill) Betts. Lawrence is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren.He is survived by his only sister Joyce Gallagher and only brother Gene Rhyno. Lawrence was predeceased by his father Irving Rhyno and mother Elsie Rhyno-Kenney and step-father Robie Kenney. He was pre-deceased by a son William (Bill) Rhyno; a grandson Tyler Rhyno and daughter-in-law Heather Rhyno. Lawrence loved driving trucks for many different companies including work as a driver / salesman at Yarmouth Superior Ice Cream Company and O. H. Armstrong Frozen Foods. He loved tinkering with old cars and trucks and was a true Ford man. Lawrence enjoyed camping and he loved his dog Sandy. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation will be Tuesday from 7- 9 pm at Sweeney's Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will be 2 pm Wednesday at Yarmouth Wesleyan Church, Haley Road, with Pastor Jim Rhyno officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Lake Cemetery. It has been requested there be family flowers only. Donations may be made to the V.O.N. Tri-County; the Yarmouth Wesleyan Church or a charity of choice.
