Obituary

Mrs. Fred Duncanson, Joyce Anne ,76, of Brenton passed away in Yarmouth Regional Hospital on October 22,2019, surrounded by her loving family. She was a daughter of the late Viola (Grant) Bonang of Yarmouth. Joyce was a gracious, loving and honorable woman whose passion in life was loving her Lord and Savior and caring for others. Her greatest joy in life was being a stay at home mom ,who loved and took pride in raising her children. During her early married years, she worked in a senior’s home in Ottawa. After her family had grown, she worked part time at a fish plant and mink ranch. She was quick to help others in need without drawing attention to herself and not seeking or needing recognition. She enjoyed quilting, sudoku puzzles, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, watching the hummingbirds and sunsets from her window seat. Joyce was a woman of faith and attended Evangel Assembly in Yarmouth until her health no longer permitted. She will be dearly missed by her husband, Fred of 58 years; daughter, Cheryl (Jeffrey) Turcotte, High Point ,North Carolina; sons, Keith (Kimberley) and David (Lula Hipson) ,both of Brenton; grandchildren ,Nathaniel and Nicole Turcotte; Jordan (Cara) Duncanson and Andrew Duncanson; great grandchildren ,Brody and Bennett Duncanson. Besides her parents Joyce was predeceased by brothers, Daniel and Lawrence; sister Betty. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium in Yarmouth. Visitation will take place on November 1st,2019 from 6-8 pm., Funeral will take place on Saturday November 2, 2019 at 2pm, both from Evangel Assembly in Yarmouth with Rev Nathan Hill officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Tri-County V.O.N or Yarmouth Argyle Home Support Services. Online condolences may be made to sweenysfh@eastlink.ca or you may sign the guestbook online at www.sweenysfuneralhome.net

A Tribute In Memory Of Joyce Ann Duncanson
An Honorable,Kind and Gracious Woman

We have gathered today to celebrate the life
of a very special loved one and friend;
For all those who die in the Lord Jesus Christ
their death most certainly does not mark the end.
Joyce Duncanson was a devoted and honorable woman
and she possessed a deep passionate love for her Lord;
God and her family were her top priorities in life
she didn't seek after what this world could afford.
She was very content in being a stay at home Mom
though she did work some after the kids left the nest;
They will be the first to tell you that there aren't any words
to express the full extent which their family was blessed.
Joyce was the wife of Fred for the better part of six decades
this should tell you what kind of a woman she really was;
I am only quoting the words that Fred spoke to me
the actual truth is we all have our flaws.
Just as he promised on their wedding day
Fred stood beside her to the very end;
I'm quite sure he would say apart from the Lord
that his wife, Joyce, was his very best friend.
Joyce was a loving mother to their three children
and loving grandmother and great grandmother, too;
The many precious memories that you all have of her
will only become more and more precious to you.
To her dearly beloved Church family
her spirit will remain with you here evermore;
Remember, all who die in the Lord Jesus Christ
that death for them is only a door.
The last several years haven't been easy, for sure
and on Fred and the family it has taken it's toll;
But you can rest assured that your loved one today
is present with Jesus in His eternal and Heavenly fold.
But tears are a language that God understands
and let me assure you that He shares in your grief;
The suffering of your loved one is now all in the past
and for her sake we all should have a sense of relief.
The precious memories will linger and rightfully so
and there will be times when they will flood your soul;
However, given the state she was in you could not wish her back
but we can praise God knowing that she is now perfectly whole.
The truth is Joyce Duncanson is more alive now
than she ever was while here on this sod;
And I am confident today she would want us to give
all the glory and all the honor to God.
For precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints
is what God's Holy Word has to say;
Our departed loved one knew full well in her heart
that Jesus was the Life, the Truth and the Way.
In closing, it is only fitting that we give thanks to God
for the life He granted to our loved one and friend;
I'll close, as I started,for those who die in the Lord
that their death, most certainly, does not mark the end!
