Obituary for Jason Scott Goodwin

Jason Scott Goodwin
GOODWIN Jason Scott- age 37, of Glenwood, N.S. passed away on March 25, 2016 in Glenwood. Born in Yarmouth on September 29, 1978 he was a son to Havelocke and Lela (Stevens) Goodwin. Jason was a member of Champs, an organization run by War Amps for child and adult amputees. During his life he received many benefits and treasured memories from them. He spent many happy hours at his camp across Mespark Lake where he enjoyed duck and deer hunting, boating, hiking, swimming, and capturing many pictures of beautiful sunsets. His pastimes also included getting his home made greenhouse ready for planting and cutting wood. His greatest joy was his daughter, Josy- born July 20, 2014. He was most happy giving her many of the same experiences he had at camp swimming and sitting on the beach and sliding on the lawn in Argyle Head. Jason went to Compu- College in Halifax and was a fisherman and labourer for most of his life. Besides his parents he is survived by his daughter Josy Nina Elizabeth Goodwin; brothers, Danny (Megan) Goodwin and Dwayne Goodwin; nephews, Kaiden and Jerry; and nieces, Jocelyn and Jazmine. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Keith and Reta Goodwin, Lyman and Dorothy Stevens; and aunt, Nina Spinney. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth where cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 6, 2016 from 2-3 P.M. in Sweenys funeral home chapel where a memorial service will commence at 3 P.M. with Pastor Mitchell DeWare officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory may be made at Sweeny’s Funeral Home to a trust fund for Jason’s daughter Josy for her education fund.
