Obituary for Glenna Clarke King

Glenna Clarke  King
KING (Murphy), Glenna Clarke- 107, of Yarmouth passed away at Yarmouth Regional Hospital on Wednesday, August 14, 2013. Born in Yarmouth on January 6, 1906 she was a daughter of the late Herb and Emma (Clarke) Murphy. Glenna was a member of the Brooklyn United Baptist Church and a life member of the Brooklyn Women’s Institute. She is survived by daughters, Hazel Bullerwell, Lower Sackville; Muriel Newell, Winnipeg, Manitoba; sons, Gordon (Kathy), Westphal, N.S.; Russell (Renette), Arcadia; Peter ( Wendy), Bridgewater ,N.S.; brother, Malcolm (Frances) Murphy, Utica, New York; sisters, Marjorie Deming, Yarmouth; Eleanor ( Leighton) Trefry, Canning; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Victor King; son, Peter Gordon in infancy; grandchild, Steven Newell; son in laws, James Bullerwell and Ralph Newell; brothers, Egbert, Jim, Albert; sisters, Katheryn and Janet. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. There will be no visitation as by family request. A funeral Service will be held Monday, August 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m from Sweeny’s Funeral Chapel with Rev. A.D. “Bill” Newell officiating. Family Flowers only please. Interment to follow in the Brooklyn Cemetery. Memorial Donations in Glenna’s memory may be made to the Arthritis Society of Nova Scotia, Brooklyn Cemetery Fund or Charity of your Choice.
