MOOD, Garey Malcolm – age 68, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2017 in Halifax Nova Scotia with his wife Donna and his family by his side. Born in South Ohio, Yarmouth Co., N.S., on February 11,1949 he was the oldest son of Barbara Mood and the late Malcolm Mood. Garey was a bricklayer and strawberry farmer all of his life. He enjoyed his privacy and was very devoted to his family. Everyone knew him to be a free spirited man. Garey always enjoyed a good time with his loud voice and even louder laugh. In his spare time he was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt, fish, and go for walks in the woods. Garey is survived by his mother Barbara Mood; loving wife, Donna; sons, Garey Jr. (Tanya), Jamey (Nicole); daughters, Alana (Dennison), Ashley; brothers, Bryan (Sherry), Terrance (Carmen), Greg (Wendy); sisters, Marsha (Doug), and Jocelyn; also survived by 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Besides his father, he was predeceased by his sister Wendy Mood. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation will be held Tuesday May 23, 2017 from 7-9 P.M. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A private graveside service will be held Wednesday May 24, 2017 with Rev. Robert Gates officiating. A celebration of his life/reception will be held Wednesday May 24, 2017 at the Salmon River Fire Hall starting at 11 A.M., which all are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the Friends of Gilles Boudreau Cancer Help Fund.
