WILLIAMS, Doris L. (McKenna, Smith) – age 89, Lockeport, Shelburne Co., N.S. passed away on April 19, 2016 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born on July 9, 1926 she was a daughter to the late Bernard and Elizabeth McKenna. Born in Truro, Doris attended the Halifax School for the Deaf until age 18. After she married she lived in East Sable River for a few years before moving to Lockeport where she lived the rest of her life. Mom really enjoyed to bowl and walk the “big beach”. She spent many a fall enjoying deer hunting with her husband Bob from their camp in Canada Hill. Doris lived the last 14 years at the Lockeport Seniors Complex where she loved to have family and friends visit, especially her card playing partner Vera. She loved her family and will be dearly missed. She is survived by her brother Lester (Lillian) and sons Michael (Geneva), Alexander, Jim (Angela) and daughters Elizabeth (Alan), Catherine Smith and Grace Wickwire. Doris was predeceased by her first husband, Victor Smith and second husband Robert Williams; son, Victor Barry; stepsons, Leonard, Edward and Leamund, Sister Betty and Brothers Roger and John. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
