BODGE, Clarence Astron – age 94 of Yarmouth, passed away at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital on March 30, 2015. Born in Woods Harbour on October 29, 1920, he was parented by late Archibald and Martha (O’Connell) Bodge. He was a working farmer all his life and enjoyed the challenge of making a deal with buying and trading cattle and horses. He also enjoyed taking in the exhibitions all around Nova Scotia and in New Hampshire. He was a “close to earth” person who enjoyed rabbit hunting and the simple things in life and he loved his family. He is survived by his son, James (Shelley). He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Minola (Nickerson) Bodge; siblings, Melbourne, Almon, Bertha, Edna. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 1 from 7-9 p.m. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will be held in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel on April 2 at 2 p.m. with Rev A.D. “Bill” Newell officiating. Interment will be in Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery in the spring of 2015. A reception will follow at the Brooklyn Hall. In leau of flowers donations in memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation .
