GOODWIN, Carl Roy- age 82. With great sadness, we the family of Carl Roy Goodwin, Yarmouth, N.S. share the news of his passing on September 10, 2015. He was born in Yarmouth Regional Hospital, son of Tracy H. Goodwin & Flora (Knowles) Goodwin on May 11, 1933. His working years were spent in a family business, Tracy Goodwin Trucking Limited. Carl & his brother, Bob carried on the business as distributors for Coca Cola until they retired in 1997. Carl enjoyed music and often sang solos for events in the Yarmouth area. He was the organist and choir director for thirty one years at Chebogue United Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, D. Noreen (Sparks) Goodwin; sons, Tracy R.(Angela) Goodwin, Markham, Ontario; Kevin H. Goodwin, Gavelton, & Laurie D. Goodwin, Yarmouth, N.S. grandsons, Benjamin & Nathan Goodwin, Markham, Ontario. He was predeceased by his parents, Tracy & Flora Goodwin; step-mother, Myra (Fleet) Goodwin; brothers, Havelock, Russell, Charles, Robert, and sister, Norma Fox; grandchild, Madeline. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. There will be no visitation by family request. A memorial service will be held Monday, September 14, 2015 at 11 A.M. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ray Corbett officiating. Interment will follow in Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory can be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses or a charity of your choice.
