ROBERTS, Barbara Harriette – age 79, of Brooklyn, Yarmouth Co., N.S. passed away at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital on April 13, 2015. Born in Overton, Yarmouth Co., N.S on September 4, 1935 she was a daughter to the late Lawrence “Franklyn” and Marjorie (Tedford) Morton. Barbara owned and operated a snack bar in Ontario for many years. She was a former member of Kinettes in Ontario as well as a member of Scouts Canada. She is survived by her loving husband, Leslie John Roberts; sons, Donald (Patty), Yarmouth; Wayne (Rose), Westlock, Alta; daughters, Diane (Glen) Liscombe, Oshawa, ON; Karen (Stephen) Robinson, Peterborough, ON twin brothers, Fred Morton of Yarmouth, and Frank Morton of Sandford; sister, Gertrude Cosman, Ontario; 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Besides her parents Barbara was predeceased by her grandson Jared Leblanc Roberts. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 16th, 2015 from 7-9 p.m. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will be held Friday, April 17th, 2015 at 2 p.m. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. A.D "Bill" Newell officiating. Interment will take place in Chegoggin Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Chegoggin Cemetery.
