HURLBURT, Alma Mae – age 83, of Carleton, Yarmouth Co., N.S. passed away at Yarmouth Regional Hospital on March 9, 2016. Born in Canaan Yarmouth Co., N.S she was a daughter to the late Frederick and Edna Duncanson (Hurlburt). Alma loved to bake bread and was known as “the bread lady” in Yarmouth. In her younger years she loved to work in the woods along side of her husband Cecil and in later years enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She is survived by her daughter Linda (Darrell) Finlay, Carleton; son, Paul (Phyllis) Hurlburt, Carleton; sisters, Ruth Ring of South Ohio and Joyce Hurlburt of Yarmouth; 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Cecil ; brother, Keith Duncanson; and two infant sons. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. There will be no visitation by family request. A funeral service will be held Friday, March 11, 2016 at 2 P.M. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Eddie Burrill officiating. Interment will follow in Carleton Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in Memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
