Obituary for Arthur Stewart Taylor

Taylor, Arthur “Stewart” 92, Pleasant Lake, Yarmouth County passed away on November 20, 2017, in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Wittenburg, Colchester County, July 24, 1925 he was a son of the late Clifford and Jean (Stewart) Taylor. He was a member of the New Heights Baptist Church, Arcadia, and Veteran of the Second World War serving in the Royal Canadian Navy. He was an Electrician for 30 years with Canadian National. Stewart was a man of great faith. He did beautiful woodworking, was an avid reader, and was a life-long gardener. Using whatever he had available, he could fix or create just about anything he set his hand to. He had a quick dry wit, and was a teller of countless stories. He was a beloved husband, Pa, Grandpa, and Great-Grandpa. Stewart is survived by his wife of nearly 71 years, Kathleen (Fraser) ; daughters Sharon( Ronald) Baxter, Port Williams; Susan (Dan) Gibson, Canning; Deborah (Dennis) Kaye, Hebron; Anne (Don) Hebb, Labelle; Barbara( Hoyt) Price, Edmonton; Elaine (Tom) Earle, Pleasant Lake; MaryDale Taylor( Len O’Brien), Dartmouth; son Hugh ( Denise) Taylor, Darlings Lake; brothers Keith, Robert and Dennis; 20 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sisters Frances, Mildred, Thelma and brother Malcolm. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Sweenys Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. As per request there will be a memorial service at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Gideon Bible Society or Charity of your choice.
