She grew up in Burlington, MA and raised her family in Whitman and Georgetown, MA. Yvonne was very fond of her Acadian heritage and eventually retired to Nova Scotia where she spent the remainder of her life. Her grandchildren remember visiting during the summer months where they made many crafts, baked bread, picked vegetables from the garden, played cards and spent time with family and friends.Yvonne was an extremely talented seamstress and enjoyed quilting and knitting for herself and others, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved cooking, baking, playing the organ and staying connected with family and friends. She had a strong appreciation for genealogy and never passed up an opportunity to talk to others about her family tree. She loved Skyping with her great-grandchildren and showing off their artwork and photos to others. Yvonne will be remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor.
The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff at Gentle Care Seniors Boarding Home for all their love and care over the past several months. Yvonne was happy being surrounded by such wonderful people and truly enjoyed her time there. The family would also like to thank Yvonne’s dear friend, Audrey Pottier, who has been by her side for as long as we can remember. We are so grateful for her friendship, dedication and love for Yvonne and cannot thank her enough for all of her care.
