Eldridge, Yvonne Marie
Age 86 of Yarmouth formally of Deerfield, passed away, with family by her side. Born in Lower East Pubnico on November 3, 1935. Daughter of the late Edgar and Gertrude Surette. After graduating from Yarmouth Vocational School she was on staff at the Yarmouth Royal Stores, where she met her husband Doug. Doug and Yvonne were married on June 9, 1960, and she later became a stay-at-home Mom. Yvonne enjoyed cooking, camping, reading and crafts. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of both the Yarmouth and Valley & District Fire Departments. Yvonne is survived by her husband Douglas, daughter Carolyn (Murray) Adam, son Brian (Judy) Eldridge. Grandchildren Laura (Joe), Samantha (Jake), Gavin (Sabreena) and Robyn (Brody). Great grandchildren William and Hannah. Sister-in-law Dot (Ron) Vallillee; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Helen (Jack) Harris, sister-in-law Erma (Howard) Harris. Arrangements are under the direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. with prayers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday the 4th of November 2022. A Christian burial Mass will take place at St. Ambrose Cathedral, Yarmouth on Saturday, November 5th 2022 at 10 am. Family Burial to take place at Norwood Cemetery following the funeral mass. Donations in memorial to Norwood Cemetery, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or charity of choice. Family flowers only. Masking recommended. Online condolences may be made at www.sweenysfuneralhome.net
