Newell, William Eugene, a 92-year-old resident of The Meadows passed away on June 24th, 2022. William was born on June 5, 1930, to Austin Newell and Lottie (Gallant) Newell in Shelburne N.S. He was a wooden boat builder all his life and an extremely hard worker at that. In his downtime he loved to play cards and he enjoyed going camping. He was also a member of several senior’s clubs as well as bowling clubs in his later years. William was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was predeceased by his stepmother, Mildred, sisters Geraldine, Nancy and Debbie. He is survived by his loving wife Marjorie (Thompson) Newell, Yarmouth; daughter, Holly Newell (Simon Paul) of West Pubnico; son, Michael (Dale) of Raynardton; grandchildren: Jamie Newell (Carolyn) of Riverview N.B., Winton Porter of East Pubnico and Jody Newell of Tarantum P.E.I; sisters, Marjorie and Marcia. William will be greatly missed by his family and friends as well as all those who’s lives, he touched. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 10,2022 from 6-8 p.m. A memorial service will be Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 1p.m. from the Sweeny's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Raymond Pitcher officiating. Interment in the Chegoggin Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to a charity of choice.
