Obituary for William "Doug" Frickelton

Frickelton – William Douglas

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Doug on March 9, 2023, in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital, at the age of 93. Born in Wiarton Ontario on December 26, 1929, he was the son of the late Robert (Helen Muir). Doug was in the Royal Canadian Air Force for 18 years and served 5 years in France with NATO and 5 years in the United States with NORAD. After leaving the RCAF, he worked in Ottawa for the federal government as a senior civil servant for 25 years.

Besides his parents, Doug was predeceased by his brother, Edward and his former wife Shirley Street. He is survived by his wife of 41 years Carol Boudreau; son, David (Maria) Frickelton; grandsons, Costa, Willie (Amanda); granddaughter, Evana ; great-granddaughter, Ellie, all of Ontario; daughter, Lori (John) Wilton; grandsons, Matthew (Fernando), Ontario; Bradley (Sara) Halifax; granddaughter, Janna, Halifax; stepdaughter, Angela (Michael Dammer), Ontario; step-grandson, Logan Dammer, Ontario; brothers in law, Bill and Marion Boudreau; David and Jacquie Boudreau; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium in Yarmouth. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at Yarmouth Wesleyan Church on April 14,2023 at 2p.m. Donations in memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
