Obituary for William "Bill" Betts

William "Bill" Betts

With a heavy heart I want to announce the passing of my husband, best friend and soulmate, William (Bill) Charles Betts on Nov 25, 2022, 67 years old from Yarmouth, NS, born May 12, 1955. Bill was the son of Joe and Dorothy (Medicraft) Ells.

Bill was born in a small village just outside of Middleton called Victoria Vale. Bill moved to Yarmouth in 1982 and opened up the first brand of Wyeco, which later changed hands to become Liteco,Rexal. Bill managed this branch plus Bridgewater and Kemptville in time of need. Bill loved his job being manager of the branch for over 35 years until he got sick and had to retire.
Bill also loved restoring antique cars and trucks, winning several awards for his efforts. Gramp also taught our grandson Alex Rhyno how to maintain his own vehicles.
Bill had so many special friends that were always to the house to visit him before he got sick and after.
Bill wanted me to send a special thank you to Russell d’Entremont for all he has done for him. He would drive all the way from Argyle to spend almost every day with Bill and they had many conversations (every day). Brian LeBlanc for his many visits, donuts, and lots of lunches. Wade Nickerson who called Bill everyday and brought him Tim’s tea. Leroy Warner, Jimmy (Bear) Cook and Mike Ryan, my sister Lynn Sisco for many phone calls, brother Kenny Burrill and brother-in-law Oliver and Cheryl Bourque, Andrew Rhyno, Derrick Good and of course Derek Bent who Bill loved like a son.

Bill is survived by his wife of 22 and a half years years Karen (Burrill) Rhyno Betts. There was not a day that went by that he did not say to me “I love you”. Bill was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, uncle and Gramp/Grampie.
Survived by Son, Nathan Betts (Brittany) of Yarmouth; grandkids, Bastion and Ophelia Betts (mother Peggy Townsend); daughter, Kristen (Burke) Betts of Morinville Edmonton Alberta; stepson, Blair (Lori) Rhyno of Truro NS; grandkids, Sadie and Emilia Rhyno; stepdaughter, Amy (Steve) Rhyno of Yarmouth and grandson Alex Rhyno.

Bill is also survived by sisters, Rose (Dave) Crouchman of Windsor NS, Leona Baker of Victoria Vale, Tammy (Shawn) Betts of Alberta as well as many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents, Joe and Dot Ells; brother, George Ells and his wife Linda; niece, Michelle Crouchman.
