Obituary for William Ernest "Ernie" Muise

William  Ernest "Ernie"  Muise
Muise, William Ernest “Ernie” – age 86 passed away at his home in Yarmouth unexpectedly on February 13, 2018. Born April 30, 1931 in Clare, Digby Co., N.S. he was a son to the late Leo and Mary Muise. Ernie was a veteran of the Korean War and member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 61, Yarmouth where he was a member for over 53 years. For his career he painted with Doug Upton and did many odd jobs throughout the years. Ernie was kind, compassionate and had a great sense of humor that would leave you in stitches. On most days you could find him up early in the morning and at the Salvation Army Thrift store looking for the deals. In his spare time Ernie loved to make lighthouses, BBQ, and try his luck on scratch tickets. He is survived by his companion and special friend, Barbara Smith, Yarmouth ; daughter, Lynn Hubbard, Yarmouth; step daughters, Linda (Steve) Hughes, ON; Camilla Smith , Yarmouth; Tanya Smith (Martin Maillet), Summerville; Deanna Smith, Alberta; 3 sons; step sons, Gary (Leona) Smith, Yarmouth; Terry Giorno, Dartmouth; Dwayne Smith (Marsha Richards) Elmsdale; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ernie was the last surviving member of his immediate family and besides his parents was predeceased by his son, James Berry; stepchildren, Joan Trask and Michael Smith. Visitation will be held Monday February 19, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel with a Royal Canadian Legion Branch 61 Service at 7:30 P.M. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday February 20, 2018 at 11 A.M from Saint Ambrose Cathedral. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery. Flowers are welcome and donations in memory can be made to a charity of your choice.
