Obituary for Wendy Trembath

Wendy Trembath, age 79, passed away peacefully after a long battle with illness at the Meadows, in Yarmouth on Friday, March 15, 2024.
She was born in Penzance, Cornwall, England, ("at the tip of Land's End", as she use to say) on September 17, 1944. She immigrated to Canada with her family in the mid 1950's. They settled in the Sudbury, Ontario area where her father worked as a tram driver underground at the Falconbridge Mine in Falconbridge.
She was predeceased by her father, Edward Trembath, her mother Pearl (Riley) Trembath and her brother Barrie Trembath. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Following graduation from high school, she moved to the Toronto, Ontario, where her working life was spent. Her last work before retirement was with the Canadian Automobile Association. In 2001, she relocated to the Yarmouth, Nova Scotia area where a close friend from childhood lived.
Wendy enjoyed reading especially mysteries, watching British TV shows and following politics. Her cousin Kathleen also remembers how Wendy never forgot her family in England and how they looked forward to her letters in the blue air mail envelopes. She also enjoyed drives with an ocean view and eating out weekly at Jo Anne's Quick N' Tasty. She loved animals and had a cat trained to walk outside on a leash. She had a generous heart and enjoyed helping people as she could.
Locally she is survived by good friends, Carol Higby and Jack and Vicki O'Neil; and in England by Cousins, Kathleen, Michael, Sally, Adam and families.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. There will be a grave side service Friday March 22,2024 at 2 p.m. from the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Pastor Keith Moore officiating. Donations in memory may be made to the SPCA. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Sweeney's Funeral Home and Crematorium in Yarmouth.
