Obituary for Walter Vincent Boudreau

Boudreau, Walter Vincent, 1933-2022. Walter passed away on August 19, 2022 in Tri County Regional Hospital, Yarmouth. Walter was the son of the late Calace and Winifred (Noah) Boudreau. He was born and grew up in Yarmouth, attending St. Ambrose School and Yarmouth High School. He later lived in Moncton NB where he worked for C.N.R. before moving to Dartmouth, NS where he and his brother, Paul started a successful food service business. He and his family returned to Yarmouth in 1972.

Walter, with his brother Paul and his father brought the Dairy Queen to Yarmouth. He had many happy years there and especially enjoyed the Dairy Queen Softball team. He was a mentor to many and is fondly remembered by former staff. He was actively involved in the Yarmouth business community and served on the Downtown Development Corporation. In later years, he enjoyed travelling with his wife, Miriam in their motor home which brought great pleasure. Predeceased by his wife, Miriam (nee Hurlburt) in 2006 and great granddaughter, Sadie Marie Surette, Walter leaves behind a son, Mark (Ginny) daughter, Gina Surette (Franklin) and five grandchildren: Tristan Surette, Alex Boudreau, Ryan Surette, Aislin Boudreau, and Anne Marie Surette.
