Obituary for Violet Louise Murphy

MURPHY Violet Louise – age 97 of the Meadows Home for Special Care passed away peacefully at the Meadows on March 22, 2019. Born in Plymouth Yarmouth Co., on January 18,1922 she was a daughter to the late Aubrey and Bernice (Whitehouse) Scott. Vie will be remembered first and foremost for her love for her family. She devoted the biggest part of her life making a home for her husband and children, to being a grandmother and last but not least, the endless joys of being a great grandmother. After raising her family, she then found time to enjoy some of her favorite things such as bowling, bingo, card games with her friends, and her summer trips to Brazil Lake “camping with the Scott’s”. Let’s not forget the endless hours she loved watching and enjoying every Blue Jay game that she could ... even the losses! She lived her life to the fullest each and every day as much as she could, and right to the end! She is survived by her daughters, Alice (Ted) Saulnier, Plymouth; Karen Murphy, Tusket; 7 grandchildren,14 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Patrick; daughters, Connie and Debbie; sons, Bobby and Donnie; brothers, Alison, Willard, Milton; sister, Kathleen “Kay” and a granddaughter, Ashley. Many thanks to the staff at Treasured Memories and The Meadows for their kindness and care to our mother. As well, special thanks to Dr. Natalie Horton for her compassion and care. To Jenelle Macdonald for the years she took care of our Mother, we are forever grateful and thank you. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation will be held Tuesday March 26,2019 from 7-9 P.M. with Prayers at 8 P.M in Sweeny's Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will take place Wednesday March 27,2019 at 2 P.M. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. A.D “Bill” Newell and Father Pat O’Meara officiating.
