PICTOU, Viola Mildred – age 94 of Yarmouth passed away peacefully on January 24,2020 at Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Yarmouth Co, she was a daughter to the late George and Cecilia (Spates) Lambert. Viola was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother who loved her family dearly. She was a homemaker her entire life and took great pride in raising her children. She absolutely loved to go for rides with her family and would go 7 days a week if she could. One of her wonderful joys of her life was to rake wild blueberries with her family. She is survived by her sons, Bernard (Beverley) Pictou, Yarmouth; Peter Pictou, Beaver River; Thomas (Amanda Myra) Pictou, Chebogue; Clifford Jr. “Jim” (Donna) Pictou, Gardeners Mill; Albert (Tina Goodwin) Pictou, Yarmouth; Donald Curry, Halifax; Charles Curry, Arcadia; daughter, Mildrey “Mickey” Curry; brother, George Lambert “Peanut”; sister, Brenda Smith; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her loving husband, Clifford Pictou; sisters, Avis Lambert, Eleanor Robicheau, Florence Moulaison, Sharon Stevens; brother, Donald Lambert; and a grandson, Trevor Pictou. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. As per Viola’s wishes a private graveside service will take place in Gavelton Cemetery in the spring. Donations in memory may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association. A very special thank you to all the nurses, doctors and staff on 4th floor North at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital that took wonderful care of our mom.
