Obituary for Sydney James Falls

FALLS, Sydney James, of Yarmouth, passed away March 8,2020 in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born April 12, 1953 in Greenville, Yarmouth Co., N.S. he was a son of the late Thomas “Enos” and Rosalie (Turner) Falls. Sydney worked for Irving in Halifax and the Chronicle Herald. He loved music, dancing, running and staying active. He spent many days at the YMCA going to the gym. In his younger years he was known to court a few ladies. He was quiet and reserved, enjoyed going for drives with Cousin Peter, and going to family gatherings. He would always turn negativity in to positivity, socializing with patients in the Dialysis Unit. He loved his dog, Skippy who was left to him by his second Mother, Aunt Mary. He is survived by siblings, Alfred Thompson, Ontario; Hallet (Barbara) Turner, Greenville; Cora (Phil ) Hutchinson, Maine; Richard Falls(Elaine) , Halifax; Martha Falls, Yarmouth; Perry (Susan) Falls, Edmonton; Daniel (Rhonda) Falls, Yarmouth; Michael Falls (Donna), Yarmouth; Josephine Falls (Glen), Yarmouth; Thomas Falls (Victoria), Greenville; Ray (Kathy) Falls, Yarmouth; Rachel Falls (Melbourne) Greenville; Benjamin Falls, Yarmouth; Marie Falls (Curtis), Yarmouth; Curtis (Michelle) Falls, Arcadia; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Sydney was predeceased by his sisters; Rose Mary Falls and Doris Hanson and niece, Cora Yorke. Funeral arrangements been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to funeral time Saturday March 14, 2020 from 1-2 P.M. in Sweenys Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. William “Bill” Crawford will officiate the service starting at 2 P.M. Interment will follow in Greenville Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the N.S. Kidney Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Society of N.S. Sydney spent the last 7 years on dialysis and the family would like to thank the doctors and nurses who took such good care of him at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital.
