Obituary for Sushil Mohan Roy

SUSHIL Mohan Roy: Partner to Ray Comeau for 48 years. Born on January 26th, 1948 in Saharsa India, passed away on September 1, 2020 in Yarmouth Nova Scotia. Sushil arrived in Canada in the early 1960’s and was adopted by Shirley Bitner in Ridgeway, Ontario. He was also adopted by Leora Yoder in Mechanicsburg Pennsylvania. These ladies were missionaries in India. Sushil became a Canadian citizen in the 1970’s. He was a graduate of Ontario Bible College on April 29th, 1972. He received his teachers’ diploma for supervising Christian Education on April 29th, 1972. He also received his Bachelor of Religious Education in Missions at the same time by the Board of Governors of Ontario Bible College. Sushil and I became friends and roommates in the 1972, and have been together till this present time, September 1, 2020 – 48 years. We lived in Toronto Ontario for over 40 years, then moved to Nova Scotia on July 28, 2013. While living in Toronto, we met wonderful friends and worked at Sanderson Fabrics for 15 years together followed by Dentsply Canada for 14 years. Finally, we both worked at Henry’s Camera’s in Toronto for 6 years before retirement. We are collectors of antiques and collectables, music, and movies. Sushil was a classical genius. He could tell you anything you wanted to know about all composers, conductors, opera singers, and all their history. He is survived by his partner of 48 years, Raymond Comeau. He requested no funeral or viewing but wished to be cremated and buried with his partner and his pet Tiger’s ashes. He was much loved by a lot of friends and my family, Leora’s family in the USA, and some of Shirley’s family in Ridgeway; as well as, Vickie and Peter and Sue and Bill who accepted him as family. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Online condolences may be sent to sweenysfh@eastlink.ca, or you may sign the guestbook online at www.sweenysfuneralhome.net.
