Obituary for Ryan George Porter

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of beloved son, Ryan Porter, of South Ohio, on March 13, 2021 at the age of 22. Born in Yarmouth, September 28, 1998, he was a son to Troy Porter (Kelly Murphy) and Beulah Cottreau. Ryan’s love of the sea was inherited by his family which led him to pursue a career as a Lobster Fisherman. He was a fun, loving and happy person. Always with a smile that would light up the room. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, biking, and hanging with his friends. Aside from his parents, Ryan is survived by his partner, Kaitlyn Franklin; brother, Logan Porter (Heidi Rodgerson), Sluice Point; maternal grandmother, Gladys LeBlanc, Tusket; stepbrothers, Evan Leblanc, Denver, Colorado; Elliot Hubbard, Arcadia; his many Uncles, Aunts, and cousins. A light has been forever dimmed in our lives, me buddy. You will be greatly missed. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny's Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 17, 2021 from 7-9 pm from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel and will be open to the public, however COVID 19 protocols will be in place. A private family Funeral Service will be Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 1pm, also from the Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. AD Bill Newell officiating. Interment to follow in the Chebogue Cemetery. Anyone who wishes to watch the Funeral Service it will be live on our Sweeny’s Funeral Home website and will be there to view until a later date.
