Obituary for Ryan Douglas d'Entremont

d'Entremont, Ryan Douglas - age 68 of Lower West Pubnico, N.S., passed away peacefully with his family by his side on April 15, 2021. Born at home in Lower West Pubnico on March 15, 1953, he was a son to the late Wilbert and Mercedes d'Entremont.

Ryan began his fishing career at the age of 16, and worked in the industry his entire adult life. He fished aboard the seiner, "Lady Melissa" of Comeau Sea Foods for over 40 years, and worked at times in the lobster fishery with his brother, Rodney. Most recently, he spent time working on the lobster car for W.S. Fisheries.

Ryan was a proud father, grandfather, and devoted husband. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, quiet drives in the countryside, and was known for his kindness, reliability and special skills as "Mr. Fix-All." He gave unselfishly to others and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was an avid skeet and sporting clays shooter and was a long-time member of the Highland Gun Club. We will miss his dry sense of humour and his quick wit.

Ryan is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Carolyn (d'Eon) d'Entremont, children Jean-Michel (Laura) d'Entremont and Francine (Charles) MacIsaac, beloved grandchildren Danielle, Erik, Sophie and Jude; his siblings Charlie (Elaine) d'Entremont, Rodney (Jacinta) d'Entremont, Kathy (Mike) Nickerson, Grace (Terry) Goreham, Raymond Paul (Monica) d'Entremont and Jeanette (Glenn) Diggdon; his in-laws Herbert (Judy Surette) d'Eon, Juliette (David) Morton, Gladys (Eddie) d'Entremont and Corinne d'Eon, and his mother-in-law Hilda d'Eon, along with several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his father-in-law Paul d'Eon, and his sister-in-law Sandra d'Eon.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny's Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A public visitation will be held Tuesday, April 20th from 7-9 p.m. in Sweeny's Funeral Home Chapel. An invite-only celebration of Ryan's life will be held Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at 1 p.m. from Sweeny's Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Bruce Hubbard officiating.
