Obituary for Ruth Victoria Churchill

Churchill, Ruth, 88 of Overton passed away peacefully at Nakile home for Special Care, April 12,2020. Born in Yarmouth May 24,1931 she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Hazel (McGray) Shaw. Ruth was a lifelong member of the Faith Memorial Baptist Church in Overton, having been their organist for several years. Her faith being very important to her through out her life. In her early years she was a member of the singing group, The Nova Chords. She was a strong Toronto Blue Jays Fan and made that well known to her family that was not. Ruth played a major role in the family farm, The Churchill Brothers, she held the company together for many years and was up to any task that was presented to her. She took great pride in her family and loved them all dearly. She is survived by her sons, Rick (Janet Emin), Overton; Gary (Yvonne), Overton; Chris (Michelle), Overton; son in law, Brian Skaarland, Overton; grandchildren, Blair; Stephen; Adam; Darlene; Tim; Dianna; Mike; Ryan; Robbie; Jason; Mandy; 16 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Fred Churchill; daughter, Wendy Skaarland; daughter in law, Charlene Churchill; granddaughter, Shannon Churchill. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny's Funeral Home and Crematorium. There will be a private funeral service held Saturday, April 18,2020. For those of you who wish to view this service may do so, Saturday, April 18,2020 at 1pm on Sweeny’s Funeral Home website. Rev. Tim Turpin officiating.
