Whitman, Ross, 73 of Arcadia, passed away at home on February 20, 2020. Born in Yarmouth, May 29, 1946, he was a son to the late George and Ruby (Roberts) Whitman. Ross was a carpenter by trade, an inventor type spirit, always fixing, tinkering and making his own creations. He loved working on old vehicles and fishing in his spare time. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Ruby; sons, George (Helena) Whitman, Arcadia; Leland (Melissa) Whitman, Mood Road; brother, Ronald (Myrna) Whitman, Roberts Island; sister, Barbara (James) Hanf, Roberts Island; grand daughter, Chasidy; great grand daughter, Oceana. He was predeceased by his son, Burton, brother George. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 2 pm at the Salvation Army Church. Family flowers only, in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or the Diabetes Association of Nova Scotia.
