Obituary for Robert Ambrose Davies

It is with great sadness that the family of Robert A Davies (Bob), 81, Yarmouth, announce his passing on December 29, 2021, at his home. Bob was born in Halifax on November 29, 1940, to the late Robert E. Davies and Geraldine Mae Munro.
Bob grew up in Toronto before joining the Royal Canadian Artillery as a young man. He made the army his career for 32 1/2 years. He had two children, Frank and Tina, during his earlier years in the army. His career took him all over the world. His last posting brought him to Yarmouth, where he met his soulmate, Linda. Although not married on paper, they were married by heart. They spent 37 years together, and Bob helped Linda raise her two children, Sherri and Lee.
Bob is survived by his loving partner Linda (Deveau) Vickery; children Frank (Kathy) Davies, Sherri (Rod) Vickery-Dykeman, Lee (Amanda) Vickery; grandchildren Jaclyn (Tyler), Tanya, Frank Jr, Maya, Mackenzie, Jensen, Rhaina and David; great-grandchildren Owen, Ranger, Franklyn; brothers-in-law Alfred Deveau and Steven (Christine) Deveau. Besides his parents, Bob was predeceased by his daughter Tina, his brother-in-law Brian Deveau and his mother-in-law Bertha Deveau, who held a special place in Bob's heart. The family would like to thank all the doctors involved in Bob's care, especially Dr. Webster. His kindness and thoughtfulness did not go unnoticed, nor did the good-natured teasing about Bob's beloved Toronto Maple Leafs. There will be a celebration of life held August 10,2022 from 2-4 pm at the Yarmouth Armories.. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gilles Boudreau Cancer Foundation. Cremation has taken place under the care of Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Online condolences are available at: sweenys@sweenysfuneralhome.net.
