I have fond and lasting memories of your mother Reta. Reta was like a second mom to us when she’d come into town and help my mom out in her times of need. We always knew what we would have for lunch when Reta was there ! Salmon sandwiches( yucky) with the ground up bones in it!! She got us to eat them ( amazing feat) and when we were not there and in school, she’d tie everyone of our shoes together because she couldn’t stand the fact that our shoe laces were always tied wether we had them on our feet or not. We’d always laugh and she’d keep on doing it until the game got old I miss your mom. I just found out today while at work and I’m tearing now as I write this. She will be missed by both Cindy and I immensely. thanks aunt Reta for all the good and lasting memories we shared together. We loved you like a second mother ! May you find peace See you on the other side. XO. ( Kathy Carpenter aka Katie Stephenson )
PS she made THE BEST doughnuts in the world. Sigh

Lloyd, Larry, Lynn, Laurie and Lois, so sorry to hear of Reta's passing. At 98 she had a long life and I am glad I got to know her growing up in Arcadia. She was very tolerant of our teenage shenanigans and a great cook, one of my fondest memories was her delicious pecan tarts, so much so that I would pay her for a dozen just for myself! Know that we are thinking of her and the loss you are all feeling. Rest in peace Reta.

Thoughts and prayers are with all the family at this time. I am glad I got to spend a bit of time with Aunt Reta last summer and she gave me a couple of her dishcloths. Karen
