On Saturday, January 21, 2023, our world realigned with the passing of Phyllis Evelyn Devine (Reeves) at age 96. Phyllis was the north star for our family and all those fortunate to be her chosen family. Phyllis was the daughter of Everett and Clara Reeves (Crosby). Predeceased by her sister Nancy Crowell, brother Bill Reeves, and husband Jack Devine, she is survived by her sister Helen Hurlburt, daughters Marilyn Devine, Eleanor Devine, chosen daughter Vivian Bridgeo, and three grandchildren Sarah, Aaron, and Rachel. Six great-grandchildren Moss, Mina, Greta, River, Jayden and Capri. Phyllis enjoyed many years working with the public at The Royal Store, Zellers, Hoods and Frenchy’s. She was a country girl who enjoyed canoeing, camping with family and friends, dancing with the Bluenose Twirlers, and treasuring time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Known for her dry sense of humour, Phyllis always had a twinkle in her eye, a laugh to share and a mint in her pocket. She cared for many people and hugged fiercely with a thump on your back. Phyllis was rambunctious, kind and enthusiastic in life and was difficult to beat in Scrabble.
