Obituary for Nicholas Laurence Deveau

Nicholas Laurence Deveau “Nick”, age 20, passed away at home on December 12, 2022. He was the son of Chantal (Gino) Thibeault and Joseph Thibeau (Melissa Cobbett).

Nick spent half his life fighting a rare disease, he never gave up, and had an incredible attitude right until the end, he was heard many times “I might have NF2, but it doesn’t have me”, he fought like the true warrior he was. Nick was always more concerned about other people’s worries then his own. He had a strong spirit and didn’t shy away from making difficult decisions, he was mature beyond his years.
Above all else family meant the world to Nick and he was always happiest when surrounded by people and looked forward to family gatherings, spending time with his many cousins, aunts and uncles and always willing to lend a hand watching the kids. He also enjoyed games of all types and spending time with his friends. Nick had a smile that would make anyone happy, his guardian, Ziva, the family German Sheppard, who watched over him every day, and slept with him every night, always knew just how to bring out the biggest smiles and provide him the love and support whenever he needed it. Nick liked to be well put together, he had good style and expensive taste, but what made Nick stand out was his beard, which he took great pride in, and wore so well. Nick will be deeply missed and forever loved.

He is survived by his parents, Chantal (Gino) Thibeault and Joey (Melissa) Thibeau; brother, Joe Thibeau; sister, Mia Thibeault; step-
brothers, Carter and Cohen Thomas; grandparents, Dorothy and Peter Hadley; Susan Thibeau; Joseph (Audrey) Thibeau; Nicole Thibeault; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by great-grandmother, Catherine Buchanan; Pépère, Rino Thibeault; and cousin, Ryan Deveau.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium. A celebration of life will be held Friday, December 16, 2022, at 1 p.m. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel.
