Obituary for Muriel Amy Crowell

With great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Muriel Amy Crowell who went home to be with her Lord on Thursday March 14, 2024, at the age of 96, at the Yarmouth Hospital. She was born in Richfield, Digby County on February 6, 1928, the second of 18 children born to the late Kenneth and Minnie (Nickerson) Harding. She lived the majority of her life in Kemptville, NS. She was predeceased by husband ,Paul Crowell and brothers, Edwin, Chester, Keith, Lloyd, Earl, Victor, Lawrence and Ray Harding, sisters, Lorraine Crowell, Mable Roberts and Alice Smith. Also predeceased by daughter in law, Yvonne (Hamilton) Crowell and son in laws, Burnley Randall and Neil Crowell.

She is survived by her children, Lewis Crowell (Judy), Lynda Crowell, Paulette Ring (Stephen) Randy Crowell (Vera-Lynn), brothers, Hilbert, Paul and Murray Harding and sisters, Pearl LaPorte, Pauline Harding, and Margaret Gray. Also survived by 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Merlie will be remembered for her hard work and dedication to her family, community, and church. Her home was always open to everyone, and her 96 years of wisdom was sought by many. In later years she found much pleasure when she started using Facebook and connected with so many family members and friends. She was an encyclopedia of information, and her memory was flawless. Her mind remained sharp till the end. It would take a book to cover her 96 years and countless memories she has shared with us all. Those memories will be cherished. She will remain forever in our hearts.

Visitation will take place Monday, March 18,2024 from 7-9 p.m. in the Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, March 19,2024 at 2 p.m. also in the Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Joey Ring officiating. Interment to take place at a later date in East Kemptville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations anyone wishes to make we would suggest be made to The Kemptville Volunteer Fire Department which she supported for years, or any charity of your choice.
