Obituary for Michael George Nelson Jacquard

Michael George Nelson Jacquard “Mike”. Born May 27, 1955, in Picton Ontario to the parents of the late George A. and Loretta Jacquard.

Mike served in the Canadian Armed Forces from August 1975 – to August 1988, first as a medic, then dental assistant, where he found his true passion Dental Lab Tech (Lab Rat). Mike worked at Coastal Dental Lab from 1988-2007 and then bought the business from his mentor Winston Spates in May 2007.

Wanting to spend more time with his sons he joined Scouting in the Yarmouth area, which he did from 20 years on back.

Mike is survived by his wife of 46 years Jacqueline “Jackie” Nee Keech. His pride and joys, sons, James (Cathy), St Clair Missouri; David, Calgary AB; and Malcolm, Dartmouth NS; brothers, Charles (Crystal), Timothy “Tim” (Sue Judges), Pembroke ON; sisters, Patricia (Russ) LeBlanc Whitby ON; Caroline (Bill) Hudson, Yarmouth NS; sister-in-law, Karen Jacquard; step-grandchildren; Tyler (Tori) Traunton, St Clair Missouri; Christine (Chucke) Eureka, Missouri; step-great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Logan, and Caleb with twins arriving later this fall.

Thank you to Dr Tessa Boudreau, all the doctors in emergency and 3 South, those fantastic nurses, Paramedics and EHS, and Chris Smith for helping Jackie at this difficult time, all Mikes clients, and his dedicated bookkeeper Dale.

As per Mike's wishes there will be no service or funerals. A family BBQ will be held at their home in August to celebrate Mike's life. Donations in memory can be made to the Music Room in Yarmouth ( Please donate at Sweeny’s Funeral Home with Cash Only), or a charity of your choice.

Mike was a lover of music, especially RUSH, which he got to see in 2014 and then meet Geddy Lee at his book signing in December 2019. Though he was shy to play, he was a closet guitar player which he shared with his sons. Online condolences are available at: sweenys@sweenysfuneralhome.net
