Obituary for Mary Lucie Parker

Parker, Mary Lucie, 83 of Yarmouth passed away Monday, June 24,2019 in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born April 5,1936 she was a daughter to the late Albert and Mary (Thibodeau) Surette. Mary was the Grand Chief of the Eastern Woodland Metis Nation of Nova Scotia, this being her absolute passion and how she lived her day to day life. She was a Secretary for the Korean Veterans Association of Kentville and a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 61, Yarmouth. She is survived by grandchildren Steven and Lisa; 4 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; sisters Jean Taylor, Ontario; Vivian Nickerson, New Brunswick; Sharon Fielding, Ontario. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Albert Theodore Parker (Tim); daughter Linda Mason; son Michael Teepell; brother Michael Surette and sister Patricia LePage. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A Royal Canadian Legion Branch 61 Yarmouth service will be held Wednesday July 3 ,2019 at 2 P.M. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel followed by a memorial service both with Rev. A.D Bill Newell officiating. Interment to take place in Veterans section of Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery .A reception to follow the interment at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 61, Yarmouth. Family flowers only, Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Yarmouth Hospital Foundation.
