Obituary for Marsha Elaine Fitt

With profound sadness, the family of Marsha Elaine (McRae) Fitt announces her passing on October 15, 2022 at Yarmouth Regional Hospital after a short battle with Covid. Marsha was born on April 1, 1945 to James McRae and the late Margaret Anna (Nickerson McRae) Star. She referred to herself as an air-force brat, growing up around the world at various bases including Greenwood, Torbay, Marville France, and Bagotville - the origin of her life long love of anything airplane related, including the handsome Snowbird pilots!

After graduating from high school in Arvida Quebec, she took a secretarial course in Yarmouth which opened the doors to her lifelong career in banking, RBC and BMO, where she advanced to Financial Services Manager. Marsha's interests included sailing, camping, reading, rug hooking, playing Yahtze and Wordle, adult colouring, paper dolls, and watching horror movies! She had a sharp wit and wicked sense of humour.

Marsha's greatest loves were her children. She leaves behind to mourn Michelle Johnson, Shannon McCormack (Darryl), Paul McCormack (Silvia) and step sons Jim Fitt (Charlotte) and Dennis Fitt (Janice); also, grandchildren Eric, Jamie, Caitlyn, Raina, Cole, Megan, and step grandchildren Amanda, James, Megan, Andy, Lucas, and Caitlin.

Marsha is survived by her father James McRae, sister Susan Amon (Frank), and brother Jim McRae. She was predeceased, five days before her death, by husband James Fitt, as well as her mother Margaret Star, her son-in-law Max Johnson, and nephew Chris Amon.

Per Marsha's wishes, cremation will take place with her ashes to be placed with her beloved Grandmother at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity of your choice in Marsha's name.

May she find comfort and peace, and know that she is loved.
